# I lost or found a pet. Who do I call? Where is a vet?

Call the City’s animal control (pound) and the BC SPCA, post on local lost-pet groups, and check the pound’s list often. Licensed dogs are returned faster; vets are in the directory.

Checked October 1, 2026. Numbers update on their own.

City animal control runs the pound and returns licensed dogs to their owners. Report found animals to animal control or the SPCA, and walk the area: most lost cats are close to home. For vets and pet services, see the directory’s pets category.
