# It is hard to make friends here. Where do I meet people?

Join something that meets every week: a rec league, a club, a class, a volunteer role or a regular event. Our events calendar, sports clubs list and directory of non-profits are good places to start.

Checked October 1, 2026. Numbers update on their own.

The most reliable way is repetition: the same people, every week. Try a sports or social league, a run or ski club, a choir or theatre group, trivia nights, the library’s programs, a faith or cultural community, or volunteering with a non-profit. There are 361 upcoming events in our calendar.
