## Swimming

### Canfor Leisure Pool (open)

**670 Quebec Street**, downtown · 250-561-7636

The Canfor Leisure Pool is the City’s main public pool right now. It has:

- a leisure pool with play features and a large **waterslide**
- a **NinjaCross** floating obstacle course (set times on weekends and school holidays)
- lap lanes in the main and teach pools
- hot tub, sauna and steam room

The building was designed to be **fully accessible**. Features include water elevators into each pool, water-ready wheelchairs and walkers, a powered lift and adjustable change bed, Braille and high-contrast signage, and tactile floor guides from the change rooms to the water. Signs are in English and **Dakelh**, the language of the Lheidli T’enneh.

**Sensory-friendly swims** with quieter sound and dimmer lighting run on some weekday afternoons. Check the current schedule.

Fall 2026 hours (September 8 to December 31) are **6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays**, but **Monday to Thursday the pool is closed to the public from 4 to 7 p.m.** for lessons and clubs. Weekend hours are shorter: Saturday 6 to 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 9 p.m., Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The pool closes on some statutory holidays; for example, it was closed September 30, 2026 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Always check the aquatics page before you go.

### Prince George Aquatic Centre (closed for renovation)

The Aquatic Centre has been **closed since January 1, 2026** for a major mechanical and building envelope upgrade, and the City expects it to reopen in **early 2028**. The City’s project page has timelines and updates.
