- **9-1-1 service:** the Regional District provides 9-1-1 for the region and three neighbouring regional districts, and runs fire dispatch from Fire Hall No. 1 in Prince George. Calls are currently answered under contract by E-Comm. A new **Fraser-Fort George 9-1-1** call-answering service is planned for late 2027.
- **Emergency alerts:** the **Public Alerting System** covers the City of Prince George, the electoral areas and Mackenzie. See [emergency services and alerts](https://princegeorgepulse.ca/city/emergency-services-and-alerts/).

## 2026 electoral area elections

Rural voters elect their directors on **Saturday, October 17, 2026**, the same day as the City election. The Regional District’s election page lists nomination documents for each candidate, and declarations of which areas go to a vote and which were acclaimed. City residents vote in the City election, not the Regional District one. See [election 2026](https://princegeorgepulse.ca/civic/election-2026/).
