## Limits

_Main limits of the RM1 zone_

| Minimum lot width | 15 m |
| --- | --- |
| Minimum lot area | 500 m² |
| Site coverage | 45% |
| Height | 11 m |
| Storeys | 3 |

| Interior side yard | 1.2 m |
| Exterior side yard | 3 m |
| Rear yard | 6 m |
| Homes per lot | up to 4 |

Density rule: “The maximum residential density is 30 dwellings/ha. Except the maximum residential density is three (3) dwelling units on a parcel 280 m² or less, and a minimum of four (4) dwelling units are permitted on a parcel greater than 280 m².”

These are the zone’s general limits for principal buildings. Accessory buildings, secondary dwellings, corner lots and parking have their own rules, and other sections of the bylaw (general rules, specific uses, landscaping, parking, development permit areas) also apply.

## Small-scale multi-unit housing (Bill 44)

RM1 is one of the zones where lots over 280 m² can usually have up to 4 homes and smaller lots 3. [How it works](https://princegeorgepulse.ca/zoning/small-scale-housing/) (guidance).
