Tips for choosing furniture and home stores

  • Measure doorways and stairwells before buying large furniture.
  • Ask about delivery windows and whether delivery crews handle snowy walkways in winter.
  • Hot tubs need a dedicated electrical circuit; hire a licensed electrician and get the required permit.
  • Ask about trial periods and return policies for mattresses.
  • Check whether warranties are handled locally or through the manufacturer.
  • For hot tubs, ask about insulated covers and energy efficiency designed for cold climates.
