Work, school and child care

How do I find daycare, and what about French schools?

Child care is hard to get: put your name on several wait lists early. The Province explains how to find licensed care (including $10 a Day sites), and School District 57 runs French Immersion; the Conseil scolaire francophone runs French-language schools for eligible families.

Checked October 1, 2026. Numbers update on their own.

Licensed child care: start with the Province’s guide to licensed child care and our child care listings, check a centre’s Northern Health inspection reports, and apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit. For school, register with School District 57 for your catchment school; French Immersion has its own registration. Families with French-language rights can enrol with the Conseil scolaire francophone.
