How do I find a rental in Prince George?
Use the online listing sites, local property managers and, for subsidized housing, the BC Housing registry. The vacancy rate shows how tight it is; start looking early, especially before September when students arrive.
Checked October 1, 2026. Numbers update on their own.
Average rents (CMHC, apartments and row houses): bachelor $940 a month, one bedroom $1,214 a month, two bedrooms $1,422 a month. The vacancy rate is 4.4%; when it is low, good units go fast and landlords ask for references.
- Look on the big listing sites and with local property management companies (our directory lists them under real estate).
- If your income qualifies, apply to the BC Housing registry for subsidized housing.
- Never send a deposit for a unit you have not seen or whose landlord you cannot verify; rental scams are common.
UNBC and CNC both run student housing; apply early.
