Normals are 30-year averages (1991–2020) at Prince George Airport, about 110 m above downtown. "Mean" is the average of the daily high and low, so the warmest month, July, averages 15.9°C over the whole day while its average afternoon high is 22.6°C. ECCC no longer measures bright sunshine, so sunshine hours are the 1981–2010 normals for Prince George A.

So what is the hottest it has ever been?

During the Pacific Northwest heat dome, Prince George Massey Auto, an Environment Canada automatic station in the Bowl near Massey Drive, reached 40.1°C on June 28, 2021, the highest of the Environment Canada stations in the city that day. The airport, which carries the official long-term record, peaked at 38.4°C: a record for June, but 0.5°C short of the 38.9°C set on July 17, 1941. Massey Auto sits at 601 m in the Bowl, about 90 m below the airport, and lower stations usually run warmer on hot afternoons, which is why the two numbers differ.

Official ECCC daily records for the Prince George area. They join the town station Prince George (1912–1942), Prince George A at the airport (1942–2009) and Prince George Airport Auto (2009 on) into one continuous record. Other stations in the city, such as Prince George Massey Auto in the Bowl, are not part of this record. The wettest and snowiest days come from the early town station and far exceed anything measured at the airport since 1942; the April 1913 total is more than six times the next-wettest April 5.

The record cards are the official Environment Canada station records. The yearly series uses ERA5 reanalysis for a grid cell of roughly 9 km over the city, which smooths out extremes: it can read several degrees below what a station measured on the hottest and coldest days.
